Sewage handling covers the transfer of municipal and industrial wastewater containing solids, fibres, rags and other foreign material, as well as temporary bypass pumping during sewer maintenance, repair and pipeline renewal. Pump selection depends on flow, discharge head, solids size, clogging risk and whether the application requires solids passage, vortex operation, cutting, grinding or enhanced anti-clogging performance.
Tsurumi’s B and BZ ranges provide robust channel-impeller solutions for sewage and wastewater containing solids, while U, UT, UZ and PU provide vortex-type solutions designed to reduce clogging. Where fibrous or difficult material presents a greater blockage risk, C provides cutter-pump performance, MG incorporates a grinding mechanism, and BN uses Tsurumi’s anti-clogging smashing mechanism. For temporary sewage bypass applications, KRSU and KRBN provide dedicated solutions for transferring sewage between manholes during sewer renewal, maintenance and repair.
