Sludge handling covers biological, municipal and industrial sludge where solids concentration, viscosity, fibres or settling can make conventional wastewater pumping difficult. Pump selection depends on sludge characteristics, solids content, flow and head, and whether the duty requires solids passage, cutting or agitation of settled material.
Tsurumi’s B and BZ ranges provide solids-handling solutions for wastewater and treatment-plant sludge, while BN is suited to difficult duties containing fibrous or clog-prone material. Where sludge has settled or contains heavier and more abrasive solids, agitator-equipped ranges such as KTD, KRD/KRS Slurry and NKZ can assist in mobilising material before transfer, while GPN extends into particularly demanding abrasive and heavy-solids duties.
