River and flood-control applications require rapid and reliable water removal across conditions ranging from seasonal stormwater and rising rivers to flooded infrastructure and emergency response. Pump selection depends on the volume of water to be moved, total discharge head, solids content, installation conditions and whether the pumping system is temporary, permanent or required for emergency operation.

Tsurumi's KRS range provides proven high-volume, heavy-duty drainage for major stormwater and flood-control duties, including temporary and permanent flood-mitigation systems. GSZ provides high-head, high-volume heavy-duty pumping for major water-removal applications, while LH provides dedicated high-head drainage where significant elevation or discharge pressure is required.

For portable and temporary water-removal duties, KTV and KTZ provide robust dewatering capability, while automatic KTVE and KTZE models support unattended drainage points where changing water levels require automatic operation. HSR provides a dedicated solution for shallow residual-water removal during final clean-up.

Where floodwater contains significant solids, sewage or abrasive sediment, appropriate wastewater or slurry pumps should be selected according to the actual characteristics of the pumped liquid rather than treated as standard flood-control equipment. Tsurumi has documented both wastewater and slurry pumps in specific flood-control applications where conditions required them.
